OVERVIEW:
Blasting cabinets and the componentry within operate in an extremely harsh environment and are thereby under extreme stress. To maintain them, so that they always perform to their best, the below procedures need to be regularly checked.
GUIDELINES:
1) Compressed air supply needs to be DRY, wet or moist media cannot be distributed effectively. It is imperative that a receiver dryer/regulator is fitted under all circumstances and drained regularly.
2) Compressor and airline maintenance are also important as Litre age per minute and pounds per square inch delivery effect performance.
3) Air lines clog become brittle and leak, this creates inconsistent supply and effects performance.
4) Vacuum filter systems clog, and air cleaner elements need replacing.
5) Delivery gun nozzles wear out, these should be inspected before each procedure and replaced regularly.
6) Delivery gun casings and internal componentry wear out and need to be replaced and adjusted regularly.
7) Blasting media deteriorates after 4 uses (YES, it basically wears out too) and needs to be REPLACED, not just topped up. Full drain and clean-outs are extremely effective. Topping up corrupts the media even further and causes blockages and vacuum issues.
8) Internal cabinet gloves and view window replacement shields are other components that need servicing.
MAINTENANCE

The suggested air pressure is 80 PSI.

Clean the vacuum regularly by blowing the air from inside the filter cartridge.

Check the moisture trap regularly and be sure to drain when needed.

Check gloves and hoses for any leaks.

Check media hose for soft spots, especially at the hose ends, the gun and metering valve.

Do not overfill sump. Periodically drain completely and replace all media.

Make quarterly checks on all fillings, gun parts, vacuum hose and vacuum filter. Replace this when needed.
TROUBLE SHOOTING

If media does not flow through gun, check for clogged metering valve or media hose. Blow back through gun and media hose. If media starts to flow, then stops again drain media and then replace it. Disassemble gun, media hose and metering valve; clean all internal parts and reassemble. If air still does not flow, drain and clean moisture trap.
